Wind chimes have long been a part of the spiritual and cultural life of various cultures of the East. They are believed to have first been used in Asia regularly during the Chinese Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), when metal wind chimes were hung in bamboo forests and were used to tell fortunes. Later in Japan, fūrin chimes were hung from eaves, particularly at Buddhist temples, as talismans to ward off evil spirits. They can still be found at many shrines and temples in Japan today, often times with colorful pieces of paper attached to their tails and fluttering in the wind.

Bamboo wind chimes, in particular, are thought to bring good luck and are often used as part of feng shui to create positive energy in homes in various cultures of the East. Each of the 4 wind chimes offered here produces a different melody based on the chime's base chord, and each chord corresponds to a certain feeling that accompanies a particular season:

summer chord A-G-E-B
winter chord G-B-D-G
autumn chord D-F-A-G
spring chord C-E-G-F

Select your desired season from the menu, or opt for all 4 chords, and enjoy a delightful melody to bring you a serenity throughout the year.
