Kiln Transformation (Yiao Bian) Ceramic Lifting Beam Teapot
Kiln Transformation (Yiao Bian) Ceramic Lifting Beam Teapot
The Ti Liang (also Tiliang) teapot is the Chinese lifting bean teapot, which began in the Northern Song Dynasty and was popular in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a pot style that was used earlier than the side-handle pot. The kiln-fired pottery is extremely heat-resistant, allowing the pot to be hung from a rafter or a tree branch and heated over an open flame. Using kiln transformation, an artistic glaze (yiao bian) is created in the kiln creating, random, accidental and highly unique color changes. The unpredictable beauty of the colors and patterns of these ceramics make them highly appreciated and sought after the world over.
This lovely yiao bian teapot is glazed in 4 different lush primary colors. It maintains a perfect balance between rustic Chinese pottery and elegance. No extra filter is needed thanks to the integrated ceramic filter covering the nozzle inside. Its comfortable and relaxing to pour from and can heat up to 4 cups. Know anyone who's fond of tea time? Put a huge smile on their face with this traditional and gorgeous gift.
